Our Editorial Independence Policy

Equipment Finance Review maintains editorial independence from commercial relationships. While advertisers may appear on this site and compensation may influence which lenders we cover and their placement, our editorial scores are determined solely by our research methodology. No lender can purchase a higher score.

The 10-Point Scoring System

Each lender is evaluated on a 10-point scale. We score across 8 weighted criteria and calculate a weighted composite score. Scores are updated at minimum quarterly, and whenever a lender meaningfully changes its products, rates, or terms.

Application Speed & Process

15%

How fast and simple is the application? We evaluate online vs. phone-based processes, time to decision, and documentation burden.

Minimum Qualification Flexibility

15%

What is the minimum time in business, credit score threshold, and revenue requirement? Can newer businesses or borrowers with credit challenges qualify?

Financing Range

10%

What is the minimum and maximum transaction size? Does the lender serve both small-ticket and large commercial deals?

Product Variety

10%

Does the lender offer both loans and leases? Are there options for working capital, sale-leaseback, or specialty structures?

Rate & Fee Transparency

15%

Does the lender clearly disclose rates, fees, and total cost of financing? We penalize lenders who are opaque about pricing.

Equipment & Industry Coverage

10%

How broad is the lender's equipment type acceptance? Do they serve niche industries like waste management, agriculture, or medical?

Funding Speed

15%

After approval, how quickly are funds disbursed? Same-day and next-day funding capabilities are scored favorably.

Customer Experience & Support

10%

Are dedicated specialists available? How are customer reviews? Are support channels accessible throughout the loan process?

What We Do Not Score

  • Advertising spend or size of commercial relationship
  • Brand recognition or company size alone
  • Unverified customer testimonials
  • Lender-provided marketing materials without independent verification

Data Sources

Our team uses a combination of publicly available lender disclosures, industry databases, primary outreach to lenders, third-party review platforms, regulatory filings, and our own test applications where possible. We do not rely solely on lender-provided information.

Updates and Review Cycle

Rankings are reviewed monthly and updated whenever material changes to a lender's products, eligibility, or customer experience are identified. Each lender card includes its last-reviewed date.
